EP 1. MICHAEL FLAXMAN-THE JUNCTION: Chronicling the notorious “Bicycle Bandit’s” courage to come back — Michael Flaxman’s manic bike ride through a troubled childhood, addiction, drug dealing and serial bank robbery ends with being honoured as one of Toronto’s outstanding citizens. (Winner: Best Community Cable Production, Golden Sheaf Awards, Yorkton Film Festival, 2011).


EP. 2. ERELLA GANON-DUFFERIN GROVE PARK: “The Queen of Queen Street” — Artist Erella recalls the Yorkville of the hippies, the heyday of Toronto’s art and music scene, the dawn of the AIDS epidemic, and shares how she has overcome enormous personal difficulties with the support of her friends and neighbours.


EP 3. ANDREA OLIVERA-KING WEST: Numerous spiritual explorations have led Andrea Olivera back to her roots, to the earth wisdom imparted through her lineage of Uruguyan medicine women. Supported by the women in her life, she has gone from the so-called “Woolner Jungle” to establishing her own beauty care line and spa to the stars.

EP 4. MAGGIE WILSON-ST JAMESTOWN: A purple heart for a warrior in heels — Maggie Wilson has triumphed over harrowing experiences, healed her shattered life, and used this hard-earned wisdom to help others.

EP 5. ANAN LOLOLI-JANE&WILSON: Anan Lololi, renowned urban agriculture and food security guru, recounts the experiences that shaped his life and work, from socialist Guyana to Rastafarianism, from his Reggae band “Truth ‘n’ Rights” to the Afri-Can Food Basket’s social activism, which helps transform ghetto youth into Green warriors.

EP 6. SHAHRAM TABE-ST CLAIR WEST: A young intellectual in the revolutionary movement against the Shah, Shahram Tabe fought for democracy, not for an Islamic regime. He recounts the bloody protests, his flight from Iran, the horrors of a Turkish prison, and being smuggled out of Turkey to a new life in Toronto where he continues his activism.
